These analyses and the high work load on our employees might entail that we will not be able to increase the capacity at the rate previously announced. Naviair does not compromise with flight safety.
The night between 25 and 26 January we upgraded the system with a service-patch which improves a number of the system functionalities for the air traffic controllers.
ATC Capacity and Air traffic delays
After the first four weeks of the running-in period with the new system and with traffic regulations, we find that the good cooperation we experience with the airline companies is contributing to the fact that traffic delays are more moderate than expected.
According to Naviair’s announced capacity plan in the running-in period, the airspace capacity should have been increased from 60 % to between 70 and 80 % Friday 25 January 2008. However, we have decided to await a stable result of the above mentioned service-patch, where after we expect to be able to increase the capacity – probably some time this week.
