The European radar tracking system ARTAS (ATM Surveillance Tracker and Server) is a system that collects data from various radar stations and transforms it into a single picture of the airspace. In this way ARTAS ensures that air traffic controllers are presented with reliable radar data at any time - even if one or several radar stations are out of operation.

ARTAS was developed by Eurocontrol, the European organization for the safety of air navigation, in association with users.

Currently the system is installed in 14 European control centers, which in this way contributes to reducing development and maintenance costs drastically.

ARTAS is the most advanced multi-radar tracking system available and is at the same time an open system with access to documentation and expert knowledge. ARTAS software is also free for members of Eurocontrol.
