Delays with new ATM System
Statistics for January-March

The new air traffic control system has been operational in more than three month time. As informed prior to the implementation, there were to expect some air traffic delays in Danish airspace as well for arrivals and departures in Danish Airports.

To inform the passengers of the extend of the delays, Naviair has on daily basis published data of departure delays from Copenhagen Airport as a consequence of regulations issued by air traffic controls in flight regions.

This data will from now on not be published any more, as Naviair expects to back to normal ATC capacity from the mid of April 2008.

Making up the delays for the period of 2 January - 31 March 2008:
• 1937 flights of 31032 departures were delayed (6.2% of all departures)
• Average delay for the 1937 departures were 16 minuttes
• 201 flights were delayed more than 30 minuttes (0.6% of all departures)

Departures delayed for other reasons than air traffic control, e.g. due to weather conditions, technical problems, or strikes, are not included in these statistics.

This status only shows delays caused by air traffic control along the flight routes. Thus, the statistical data also includes delays caused by air traffic control in other countries.

The extend of delays caused by Naviair’s traffic regulations is as originally expected.
