The technical correction of errors and optimisation of the new air traffic control system progress as expected. The optimisation continues through the month of March so that a number of the functional problems will be solved. Naviair will gradually increase the capacity in the individual airspace sectors. With this moderate capacity increase we will be able to handle more aircraft each hour, and it is our expectation that this will help to reduce air traffic delays. The concrete capacity increase in each ATC sector will be decided by the supervisors and air traffic controllers on duty based on the actual traffic situation.

Articles in the news media and the fact that the capacity for the last two weeks has been a little lower than expected have lead to uncertainty with several of our customers about what to expect for the coming months. This week, Naviair will contact the largest danish Airline Companies and airports in order to carry through a series of consultations, like the meetings carried out before the implementation, where we will provide more detailed information about capacity and Air traffic Control in Danish Airspace.
