The Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO)

The association of civil air navigation services, CANSO, was established in January 1998 with the primary objective to represent the civil air traffic service interests globally. CANSO headquarter is located in Am-sterdam and is divided into 4 regions, with 2 own regional offices (Europe and South East Asia). In the period May 2007 – June 2008 Naviair holds the presidency in the European region represented by Morten Dambæk, Director General of Naviair.

At present CANSO holds 48 valid members and 34 associated members.

CANSO’s mission is to establish a global platform for customers as well as partners within civil air traffic, with absolute first priority of conducting air traffic service in a secure, efficient and cost efficient way.

Naviair’s participation:

Naviair contracts leading forums and contributes to various CANSO programmes, with the purpose of achieving consensus of a joint strategic direction and of practical improvement of various areas within air traffic service – among others with reference to influence future decisions within the business.

Naviar became a valid member of CANSO as of 1st January 2002.
