The multiple systems must naturally meet strict requirements for stability and security. All systems therefore undergo comprehensive testing before they are put into operation. Overall the total air traffic management system undergoes the following four test phases:

  1. A verification test in which the many systems are tested together,
  2. Validation test combining personnel, systems and procedures,
  3. A shadow-operation period, in which the new system eavesdrops on the old, and
  4. A semi-operational period, in which the new system takes over for the first time.

Together with educational work, these tests are to ensure that Naviair lives up to the very highest requirements for security so that we also in the future can be proud of being one of the best providers of air navigation services in Europe.
